Ambassadors for Christ in El Portrerillo
I just completed my third trip with Wilson Lumber to Guatemala. We visited the village of El Potrerillo and had a fun week of showing Christ’s love to the kids who attend the community school there. Several of us also had opportunities to show love and care to the moms, the teachers and a few townsfolk. Whether it was teaching Bible, playing games, praying with adults, or visiting people in their homes, this was an incredible chance for us to be used by God to make a difference in their lives. To let them know that He has not forgotten them. On the one hand, the context in which we lived and worked was radically different from what we are used to in northern Alabama. On the other, it was the same thing that we do every day. Build relationships, treat others the way we want to be treated, strive to live good and holy lives, and share the gospel with our actions and words. Whether in north Alabama or the mountains of Guatemala, we are Christ’s ambassadors, as if God is making his appeal through us!
If you have ever wanted to try your hand at overseas missions I highly recommend that you take a trip to Guatemala with the Wilson Lumber team. You will not regret it!

So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us;
we entreat you on behalf of Christ: be reconciled to God.
